SEGUN ODUOLOWU (2000)

As a television host, entertainment journalist and personality, Valenti Alumni Segun Oduolowu will be the Master of Ceremonies hosting the April 25th Impact Awards.  Segun was a regular member and contributor on the long running HLN series  Dr. Drew on Call.  He has also starred on television shows and his new video platform, Facebook Watch, Rotten Tomatoes See It/Skip It will cover the biggest films and hottest TV shows from both the critic and fan point of view.


 

DOMINIQUE SACHSE (1990)

Valenti Alumnae Dominique Sachse is the evening news anchor at at KPRC Local 2. Just look at the great people with whom she gets to communicate Houston’s stories.   And she recently celebrated a milestone. Dominique has been a broadcast journalist, since 1993. Dominique’s work over the years has blessed her with 2 Emmy awards and several AWRT awards for on-air personality,  as well as accolades from the Houston Press club and the Texas Associated Press.  The University of Houston, her Alma Mater, named her an “Outstanding Young Communications Alumna” and “Distinguished Alumni.”  But, she feels the best award is when a viewer says, “I’ve been watching you since your traffic days.”  It’s that history and sense of connection that resonates.

KAREN DUFILHO (1991)

As Executive Producer at Google Spotlight Stories, Valenti Alumnae Karen Dufilho was instrumental in introducing immersive, narrative content at Google. These efforts have resulted in a body of original, creator-driven immersive experiences that explore new questions of storyteller and audience. Karen was Executive Producer on Pearl, the first VR short to receive both an Oscar nomination and an Emmy for Innovation in Interactive Programming. Karen was also the producer of Academy & Annie Award-winning short films For the Birds and Geri’s Game for Pixar, where she helmed the Shorts Division overseeing its original shorts slate as well as A Bugs Life, Toy Story 2 and Monsters Inc. franchise production efforts. Karen recently became a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences. In 2018, she received AIS's Distinguished Leadership Award.

NATALIE CAMARATA (2006)

As a Director of Digital Marketing at Memorial Hermann Health Systems, Valenti Alumnae Natalie Camarata will be joining this years' event as a Guest Speaking. Natalie has also worked for as a Producer for CBS Radio Houston, a Production Assistant for KTRK-TV ABC 13 Eyewitness News, Public Relations Assistant and a Public Relations Specialist for UT Health Science Center at Houston.


 

COURTNEY GOODSON (current student)

Courtney Goodson, a junior at the Valenti School of Communication is pursuing a career in journalism. She wants to use her degree as a stepping-stone to become an influential broadcaster. Former host of Coog TV’s show “In The Game”. She has interned for ESPN 97.5 Houston most recently as an Audio Engineer and editor working her way up the latter. She serves as 1 of 2 hosts for the sports and entertainment Vlogcast show “Breadwinners” that is filmed in the studios of Valenti. Not only is Courtney pursuing sports journalism, but she has already gained years of experience in the Public Relations industry working for sports complexes and BMW. Hoop for Harvey and Texas Grid Iron are just a few events that she has put together to help kids, adults, and families in need. She will partner with Valenti this summer to film a summer series with her show Breadwinners at local Houston eateries.
