We are pleased to announce the 2018 Valenti  Impact Award recipient:
José Díaz-Balart

José Díaz-Balart is the anchor for Noticiero Telemundo, the Telemundo network's Hispanic news program, as well as the network's public affairs Sunday morning program Enfoque con Jose Diaz-Balart. Díaz-Balart is also an anchor on NBC Nightly News on Saturdays.

Winner of the George Foster Peabody and Alfred I. duPont-Columbia University awards, as well as two Emmys for his journalistic work, José was one of the founders of the Telemundo network in 1987. He is the only journalist who has worked simultaneously at two national television channels in English and Spanish. Apart from his work on Spanish television, Díaz-Balart was a news anchor for the CBS network's national morning program, "This Morning," and the NBC station in Miami.

Díaz-Balart has interviewed all American presidents since Ronald Reagan and has covered wars in Central America and Bosnia, the death of Princess Diana in Paris and the terrorist attacks of 9/11, among many other news stories. The magazine "Hispanic Business" named him as one of the most influential Hispanics in the United States, and Díaz-Balart has been repeatedly recognized as one of the best Hispanic journalists in the nation by "Hispanic Media 100." In December 2006, he received the "Orquídea" award as the best news anchor in the United States.

Díaz-Balart is also the General Director of Public and Community Affairs of the Telemundo network.
